Severing a Joint Tenancy
If intentions change between joint owners of a property, we can sever a joint tenancy, the result of which would be a tenancy-in-common. In the event of death of a joint title holder, we can register a Survivorship Application to remove a deceased person’s name from title, while leaving the remaining owners on title without the need to wait for an executor to act or pay estate administration tax.
